Kozhin Simon. Pine trees in Fortezza. Crete
canvas/oil 55cm x 75cm 2012
The artwork is framed
The Fortezza is the citadel of the city of Rethymno in Crete, Greece. It was built by the Venetians in the 16th century, and was captured by the Ottomans in 1646.
Climbing to the top of the fortress, I fell into the shade of pine trees. And was fascinated by the play of light on the trunks of sleepyheads sanctified by the sun.
