It was a warm summer day and I was painting a small sketch from nature with an old wooden bridge in Tsaritsyno. Two girls on horseback rode up to the bridge. They stopped and I heard a dialogue: Wouldnt it be better to go over the bridge we know? - asked the girl. Yes, its a good idea - the companion answered. So I conceived and painted this picture. The study for this painting is in the collection of the Museum of the Tsaritsyno Reserve. The painting itself is in a private collection.
