SWEDISH MOTIF

Erotic theme, so characteristic for surrealism, was reflected in the work of
A. Semushin. The name of two paintings: «Swedish motif» und «Theft by eyes, burdened with lust or voyeur in blue tones observing the eruption of a small volcano» is filled with irony. With all the conventions of the characters their stories are quite frankly and hardly require comment. However, the style trans-surrealism acts as a fig leaf quite effectively - protects the author from charges of pornography. Noteworthy is that the line in both works, absorbed by the color mass, does not lose here its formative role. The general tone unites the characters and the background together, but because of the active using of tones, shapes are easily singled out. At the same time and background and drawing are generalized the most. It gives both paintings sculptural integrity which is typical for the surreal works of A. Semushin.
