Temple Of The Spear!

Church of the Spear-Geghardavank-the name of the monastery complex comes from the spear Longin, which pierced the body of Jesus Christ on the Cross, and brought to Armenia by Apostle Thaddeus, among many other relics. The spear was kept here! Now the spear is in Echmiadzin Museum.
The rocks surrounding the Temple are part of the gorge of the river Gokht, inside of which the Monastery complex is hollowed out, while others are complex man-made structures. Geghard is one of the most visited places.
