Bethlehem

Large original oil painting on canvas stretched on a stretcher. The painting "Bethlehem" appeared after a trip to the pilgrimage to the Holy Land. I decided to paint this work under the impression, I wanted to show the beauty of this holy place on canvas. The hyperreal ancient stones of the entrance to the Basilica of the Nativity are combined with the translucent image of Joseph leading the donkey on which the pregnant Mary sits.
