Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Suddenly an angel appeared before her and said: Rejoice, Grace! The Lord is with Thee, blessed are you between the wives. "
Mary knew the scripture well and remembered that in history there had never been such an occasion when an angel addressed a girl or woman with such a solemn greeting. Therefore, she was embarrassed by the praise of the heavenly messenger, but he reassured Her with the words: Do not be afraid, Mary. You have found grace with God. And now You will give birth to a Son and call Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.
I tried to convey the mixed feelings of Mary when she heard these words. He asked the model to think about what was happening, and it seems we succeeded). With my inner eye, I saw this scene a little differently than other artists, a little more dramatic and brighter. The angel Uriel in green robes, the patron saint of medicine, is himself a little embarrassed here. There were pasty strokes and the paint layer is a bit heavy, but I left it and did not level it. This gives the dynamism of the composition and a certain warmth, femininity, tenderness. Flowers fill the canvas and roses listen to lilies.
