Winter in Kolomenskom

The reason for the erection of the Holy ascension Orthodox Church to this day remains a contentious issue. It erected in the 1530-1532 years under Grand Prince Basil III. The most popular version is that the Church was erected on the occasion of the birth of the Grand-Ducal family of the long-awaited heir, the future Tsar Ivan the Terrible.
