The Spaso-Kamenny Monastery is a monastery of the Vologda Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, located on the small island of Kamenny on Kubensky Lake in the Ust-Kubinsky district of the Vologda region.
The date of foundation of the monastery is considered to be August 19, 1260, when Prince Gleb Vasilkovich of Belozersky, grandson of the Grand Duke of Rostov Konstantin Vsevolodovich, who fell into a fierce storm, was brought ashore here. The prince, praying to God for salvation, vowed to found a monastery at the place where the ships would dock to some shore. The waves of the princes ships were nailed to the Stone Island on the day of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
