With the conquest of Bulgaria by the Ottoman Turks in 1396, bookstores are closing all Bulgarian schools. With the XV to XVIII century education in Bulgaria is " behind closed doors " and is in the monasteries. Only in the middle of the XIX century, in the period of the Bulgarian National Revival, there are the first secular school. Education in these schools was carried out by the so -called " Lancaster ( vzaimouchitelnoy ) method, " in which the more educated students to help their peers in learning and assimilating information, so these schools were called reciprocal.
