The Place of Power

The idea to create this work arose when I stood on the observation deck of the Haedong Yonggung Temple in Busan (South Korea), at the feet of a large Buddha statue. It is located on a steep rocky shore, covered by all the winds, washed by the sea, it was dressed up for the celebration of Buddhas birthday.
Exactly there I felt the wind of freedom from the crown of my head to my fingertips. Freedom, strength and faith. When I wanted to turn into a big bird, open my wings and fly away into the distance, to the horizon, feeling the piercing powerful currents of air. It was an unforgettable experience.
And I wanted to share the energy of this place.
