Legend of Shuvalovsky Park

Church of Peter and Paul. This Gothic temple was built in the 1830s by Countess Varvara Petrovna Shuvalova after the death of her second husband, the French Count Adolphe Polier. The count was buried in a crypt near the church. The crypt was designed for two: the countess swore to Adolf Pollier that she would be with him forever, but did not keep her word and got married a third time. This marriage turned out to be short-lived - five years later, Varvara became a widow again and went abroad ... But the old-timers of Shuvalov claim that the inconsolable ghost of the countess still wanders around the park, mourning her three husbands. They also say that an underground passage originates from the crypt where Adolf Pollier rested - however, no one knows whether this passage really exists and where it leads.
