After the October Revolution and until 1976, there was a school at 46/17 Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street.
In the summer of 1924, the director of the school, Nadezhda Afanasyevna Zemskaya (sister of M. Bulgakov), sheltered her brother and second wife Lyubov Belozerskaya here.
