Biography
Russian artist Dmitry Lazarev is the grandson of Georgiy Lazarev, well-known in Rostov-on-Don City, Russia artist, who was a laureate of the First Soviet-Union-Wide Festival of Working People’s Creative Activity.
Dmitry Lazarev was born in Rostov-on-Don, Russia in 1974. He graduated in Rostov Architectural Academy and has a Master’s degree in architecture.
Dmitry became a successor of his family’s artistic traditions. His grandfather was his first and principal teacher in art as well as in life giving him in his early youth knowledge and understanding of composition, skills in various painting techniques, brought up the pupil’s diligence, love of the nature and the ability to feel its beauty.
During the last 20 years Dmitry has created more than 300 art works in painting. He has participated in the painting exhibition held in Rostov Museum of Local Lore in 1993, illustrated several books devoted to the Rostov-on-Don Province history (painting, drawing). In time of his study in the Architectural Academy Dmitry’s painting “Autumn Landscape” had won the first prize among painting art works and was marked with a special award. His art has been kept in various private collections in Russia and outside of the country, for instance: in Netherlands, USA, UK, Greece, Cyprus.
The main genre of Dmitry’s art is landscape. Dmitry Lazarev always prefers to create his landscapes working in the nature. The range of his variations is very large: from classical landscapes of the Russia’s Midlands to glacial cliffs of Dombay, Northern Caucasus, the views of the Don River, architectural drafts, large collection of Cyprus landscapes, the Mediterranean island where he was living for many years.
Dmitry is a Member of Russian Professional Artists Union and was awarded with a Gold medal for the big exhibition in Limassol (Cyprus) on May 2014 titled "100 Paintings". He has also participated in "Moscow International painting exhibition" on February 2016 in Krimsky Val Hall.

Awarded by the Bronze Medal on the international competition "Art. Excellence. Awards", by Russian Artist Union, 2018 for the painting "Protaras Seashore. Cyprus", 2018.
In 2023 Dmitry has got 1st, 2nd and 3rd places awards in the "Great Copy" art contest which was held by Eurasian Art Union in Moscow.
Honorary member of International Academy of Contemporary Arts.
So, Dmitry’s artwork is a real window into the nature for painting connoisseurs.
