Sappho and Phryne

The work is made based on the sketches by Leon Bakst for the ballet Narcisse.
Both girls from la doll premix. The painting is made of acrylic and pastel. Braids of virgins from flax. Dresses from Indian sarees, richly decorated with embroidery. Virgo float in the air due to steel spokes fixed in the body structure. Stand made of wood. Construction heavy.
A little bit about the virgins. Sappho(Sappho) is an ancient Greek poet who wrote poems for virgins and about virgins. Phryne was a famous hetaera. Served as a model for the creation of the statue of Aphrodite of Knid sculptor Praxiteles.
