Inspired by Asian cinematic storytelling, it captures the exact second a determined girl corners a bewildered young man against a stone wall, leaving him no room to escape. His wide-open eyes show pure surprise; her movement is all confidence.

I wanted to capture this specific contrast: the rough, cold stone against his back and the softness of a sudden kiss. I drew this using professional soft pastels on sandpaper. The abrasive surface grips the pigment beautifully, creating deep, velvety shadows and a very tactile feel of the fabrics and the wall.
