Abramtsevo. The church of Savior’s Uncreated Image
Author: Lebedev Vladimir

cardboard 40cm x 30cm 2025
Another oil pastel drawing of the park in the Abramtsevo estate, where the Church of the Savior of the Uncreated Image appears as if from the trees themselves. It towers at the end of the walkway with its light walls and dark onion dome. The path leading to its wooden door is already strewn with yellow leaves; autumn is beginning to paint its vivid landscapes.
The muted tones of the walls and roofs and paths are illuminated in places by bright sunspots, which creates a special mood - the mood of a bright frozen moment.
Pastel colors alternate between density and lightness — thick where the shadows under the trees become deeper, and fluffy where the crowns of the trees let in fresh, bright greenery.
The author invites the viewer into a dialogue between the road and the destination, light and stone, offering to briefly immerse themselves in quiet reflections under the treetops.
