The portrait was painted from nature using the "dry brush" technique (oil paint without adding thinner on textured paper).
My last portrait, created on the Arbat.
In general, painting portraits from nature using the "dry brush" technique was rather difficult. No wonder the artists among themselves call it "rub without lubrication". Careful study of all the details, that is exactly what this technique is loved by the most respectable public, takes time. It is difficult to fulfill the promise given to the client: draw him in forty minutes.
But this girl, fortunately for me, patiently posed for two hours.
