Love and desire to draw a rhyton arose at a fascinating lecture by Tigran Konstantinovich Mkrtychan, director of the Savitsky Museum "Culture of feast and hospitality
in the 2nd century BC”, organized by the creators of the Cultural Caravan project, to whom I am very grateful for their educational activities.
From the mass of viewed various rhytons found by archaeologists in the bowels of the earth, I could not choose a single one. And so I decided to come up with my own.
Why snakes? Well, first of all, I just love animals. Everyone, without exception. Therefore, snakes and horror do not inspire me, on the contrary, they only cause admiration and reverence. They are not associated with anything bad. Along with black cats, troubles do not portend. This is second. Thirdly, the snakes look impressive. Here is a koala, for example, looks cute
And the snakes are amazingly beautiful, plastic, shimmering and so harmoniously wrap around the wine horn, merging with it together and forming a rhyton!
Fourthly, I wanted to depict exactly our Uzbek animal. And, luckily, we still have snakes. Hooray!
(Look, I’m gradually retraining as an animal painter, so keep me four )
Why tulips? Because spring was in the yard Plus, I came across the most delicate coral flowers, which it was just a sin to pass by.
Takyr, framing the rhyton with tulips - as a reference to the disappearing Aral Sea, to the desert, to my ancestors from under Muynak, to my homeland Nukus, to the hope of rebirth...
