Biography

Olga Potapova was born on October 28, 1966 in Penza

1984-1988 - The Penza Art school of K. A. Savitsky (one of the oldest schools of Russia). Honors degree.

1989-1995 - The St. Petersburg Institute of Painting, the Sculpture and Architecture of I. E. Repin, a workshop of professor V. A. Vetrogonsky.

Since 1995 - the member of the Union of Artists of Russia.

Is the participant of exhibitions in Russia and abroad.

Works of the artist are in galleries and private collections of many countries of the world.

A number of works is stored in a collection of descendants of René Magritte, Paul Delvaux, and also in G. Mikhaylov's fund.

I worked as the animator at the largest animation studio of St. Petersburg. (Movies "Three Athletes on Distant Coast", "Ivan Tsarevitch and Grey Wolf 2", "Knight's move", "Space" (cut. K. Bronzit) and "Fortress".)

A series of etchings is acquired by National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg.

"Olga's works – always live improvisation. A saxophone voice – its variable graphics, sounds of a playful flute – in fantasy illustrations to books. By the way, today Olga Potapova's drawings decorate about ten literary editions for children (among them "Alenushkina of the fairy tale" Mamin-Sibiryak, the two-volume book "Rowan from Rihn" Emily Rodda, the collection of stories of L. Panteleev "Word of honor", "Treasure island" of R. L. Stephenson (partially), "The free knight" of Paul Stewart (partially), "the Island of the Queen" of Brian Dzheyks. "On the account" Olga also remarkable water colors, ex-librises.
Relying on traditions, the artist comprehends them in compliance with the tasks set by modern requirements. Thanking magnificent possession of many-sided art means, we have opportunity to see those movements of soul and consciousness which the author generously shares with the viewer in works."
