Biography

Sergey Vladimirovich Brovkin
Born on November 22, 1967 in Anzhero-Sudzhensk, Kemerovo region. In 1975, he went to school at the Ordynsky rice farm. Korzhevsky, Krasnodar Territory, where he studied in the studio of the artist A. Gorbunov. From 1980 to 1984 He studied at the children's art school No. 1 in Shakhty, Rostov region. In 1985 he entered Rostov University. State University to the Faculty of PHYSICS. From 1985 to 1987, he served in the Soviet Army, as a draftsman in the operational department of the headquarters of the 37th Guards. RVSN RD, military unit 43195 in Lutsk, Volyn region, in 1988. He left the Faculty of Physics and entered the Rostov Art College named after M.B. Grekov in the department of DESIGN. In 1992, he painted a series of Orthodox-themed still lifes and his first seascape. Since 1993, he led an art studio and a ship modeling club in high school, then he was engaged in interior design, illustration, and printing. From 1996 to 1998 he worked as a photographer and portrait painter on the coast of the Azov and Black Seas. After a long search, he returned to painting as a marine painter. In 2001, in Abu Dhabi, he painted a series of portraits of Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum and his family, and the Emir of Qatar and his son. In 2002, he collaborated with the ROBINSON fishing company in Murmansk. In 2003, he decorated the Russian restaurant TROIKA and the English restaurant bar THATCHER at the ASCOTE Hotel in Dubai with murals and paintings. After returning to St. Petersburg from the UAE in 2004, he studied the works of the great marinists of the past: Aivazovsky, Bogolyubov, Lagorio and Sudkovsky in the storerooms of the Pushkin Russian Museum. After a trip to Italy on the island of Ischia and Naples, since 2004, seascape has become the main type of creativity.  Since 2012, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. Since 2017, member of the Union of Artists of Russia.
