Biography

He was born in 1971 in Smolensk. In 1986 he graduated with honors from the Art School of Smolensk. In 1991 he graduated from Yaroslavl Art College having received speciality of the artist-teacher, designer. In the period of studies in 1989 - 1990 he had 2 personal exhibitions. From 1992 he lives and studies in Yaroslavl.

In 1996 - 2001 he was a participant of five joint exhibitions in the Central House of Artists and Manezh (Moscow). He cooperates with galleries. You can find his works in corporate and private collections in Russia, Germany, USA, Italy, United Arab Emirates and others.To adopt the experience of the past, to analyze it and give it a new, modern interpretation that is the logic of Vladimir Ekimov's creative thinking. His work is a synthetic junction of traditional schools of old Holland with modernistic trends of America.

A certain conversation with the viewer about dramas, intrigues, and sometimes even about mysteries of human life commences. Antiques, which the artist is so fond of depicting, sort of take part in a play, staged by himself the master longing for the entity and harmony of the past epochs.
