Biography
Galina Gornykh was born in 1962 in the city of Gorky /Nizhny Novgorod. She has a higher education, but she does not have an academic art education. She started studying painting on her own in 2019. She completed the courses "Basics of Oil Painting" and "Master of the Palette Knife" at the Oil Painting School (Saint Petersburg). After the death of a loved one, painting helped Galina Gornykh find the strength to continue living. Her paintings are filled with vibrant colors, resisting death and destruction, and bringing light and joy to life. The artist participates in off- and online exhibitions, international competitions "The Firebird of Russia", "Feeria", "Global Asia". Galina has held three solo exhibitions in Kozlovo and Krasnye Baki, and she also participates in group exhibitions "Facets of Beauty", "Krasnobakov Magicians", "Creative Kaleidoscope".
Since January 2023, Galina Gornykh has been accepted into the Union of Russian Artists (URH).
Galina has been working in the landscape and abstraction genres for over 6 years. Her paintings are an attempt to capture life in all its complexity, from the tranquility of a morning landscape to the intense dynamics of urban layers. She works in oil, combining brushwork and palette knife techniques. Color is her tool for affirming life. Gorny chooses vibrant, life-affirming tones that, when combined with her dynamic brushwork, create a sense of movement, hope, and joy. The artist's goal is to show the world the joy of existence in every brushstroke, to include the viewer in an experience where aesthetics serve as a bridge to emotional response.
Gorny's works fit seamlessly into gallery exhibitions, public projects, and private Russian collections, creating emotional centers of space.
