Biography
I am Maria Kolpakova, an artist born in 1999 into a family of artists, art enthusiasts, and folklore experts. I live and create in the Stavropol Krai region. I strive to blend visual arts with cultural activities and set design for theatre productions. I graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Culture. I've been painting since my early years: I worked in my father's studio as an artist and icon restorer, mastering traditional techniques; I also developed and designed set decorations for plays, combining modern and classical approaches.
My Style
I work in mixed media—acrylic, oil, illustration—inspired by China, Japanese culture and traditions, Russian heritage, Stavropol folklore, and family motifs. I paint pictures featuring samurais and geishas, exploring themes of nature and inner harmony through vibrant colours and emotional compositions.
Themes and Inspiration
My art reflects psychology, traditions, and creativity: tea ceremonies, everyday beauty. My restoration experience adds authenticity to works with icons and decorations.
I currently hold great hopes for the art market.
