The series of works "Lace Tales" combines all the charm of "our fairy-tale fantasies." What unfolds on the canvas is not a scene, but a visual parable, where the material and spiritual are intertwined like threads in lace weaving. This is an allegory of Memory, Time and Fragile Beauty, embodied in symbolic images.
Passion for mythology, discovering its mysterious meanings. I wanted to share with my viewer “a wonderful story from Greek mythology.” The canvas unfolds not just a scene, but a philosophical parable about love, soul and eternal return. The picture is built on a subtle play between reality and myth, between the momentary and the eternal.
In the center of the composition, against the backdrop of a carpet of lush garden flowers and at the foot of a massive antique vase entwined with roses, sits a young girl.
"Cupid and Psyche" are the main characters of mythological stories, the allegory of the picture is built on the basis of this beautiful legend, the personification of which is "The mysterious Psyche, the daughter of Zeus, and Cupid passionately in love with her.." This is how the main allegory of the picture is born. A young girl with a butterfly on her hand is a modern, living Psyche. She is a soul that has not yet known love, but is already capable of subtle contemplation and beauty. And the statue in the depths of the garden is her destiny, her future, the eternal archetype to which she involuntarily strives. The garden becomes a metaphor for the world, and a huge flowering vase becomes a symbol of the fullness of life that surrounds the fragile human soul on its way.
Key images and mood:
·Symbolism. flowers, garden, love, mysterious flair, fullness of life, fairy tales, contemplation, beauty, mythology, legends, purity, innocence, mystery
· Contrast of light and shadow: The light in the painting flows whimsically: it floods the figure of the girl and the butterfly, as if blessing the present, while the sculptural group remains in the mysterious twilight of the past.
This creates the feeling of a quiet, continuous dialogue between the prototype and its embodiment.

This painting is a striking example of the artist’s skill and attracts attention with its beauty and expressiveness.
Here are the interior styles where it will look most organic and advantageous:
1. Classical and Neoclassical style (The most harmonious option)
This is an ideal environment for painting on an antique subject.
· Why it’s suitable: The painting directly references ancient mythology and art.
It will look great in an interior that is based on symmetry, noble materials and traditions.
· Color range: Rich, but not flashy: deep green, terracotta, mustard, burgundy shades or, conversely, a light range of ivory, ocher, pastel gold.
The walls can be painted or have noble textures (silk-screen printing, Venetian plaster).
· Furniture: Massive, made of dark or light expensive wood, with carved details.
The painting will look great above a fireplace, an antique console table or a sofa with a classic backrest.
· Decor: Stucco on the ceiling, pilasters on the walls, parquet flooring, heavy curtains with lambrequins, real or high-quality replicas of sculptures, mirrors in gilded frames.
2. Art Deco style with classic motifs
Here the painting will add intellectual depth and romantic history to the interior.
· Why its suitable: The Art Deco era often turned to ancient and mythological themes, reworking them in a more geometric and chic way.
The painting will become a contrasting “soft” spot in the strict geometry of Art Deco.
· Color scheme: A combination of dark (ebony, black lacquer) with light (beige, cream, champagne) and metal accents (gold, chrome, brass).
· Furniture: Glossy surfaces, geometric shapes, zigzags, trapezoids.
The painting will soften the severity and add “history”.
· Decor: Stained glass, mirrors in stepped frames, faceted lamps, bronze or glass sculptures.
The vase of flowers in the painting may echo real Art Deco vases.
3. Romantic style and Chateau style
Here the picture will create a complete immersion in an atmosphere of beauty, love and dreaminess.
· Why it’s suitable: The plot of the love of Cupid and Psyche, the image of a girl enchantedly looking at a butterfly is the very essence of romanticism.
This is a direct visual embodiment of the theme.
· Color range: Delicate, complex pastel colors: muted pink, dusty blue, lavender, faded rose, tea shades.
· Furniture: Elegant, forged (for beds, tables), with soft rounded shapes.
Lots of textiles.
· Decor: Silk, velvet, canopies, porcelain, candles, mirrors in carved frames, fresh flowers in elegant vases.
The painting can become the center of a boudoir or a relaxation area in the bedroom.
4. Eclecticism (Modern classics with elements)
The painting can become the connecting link between modern furniture and classical motifs.
Why it’s suitable: In a modern, neutral interior (for example, with gray or beige sofas, simple shapes), such a painting will instantly add character, intellectual challenge and become the main decoration.
· How it works: Place the painting on a plain wall (deep blue, olive, deep gray for drama, or light for airiness).
Keep the rest of the furniture modern and minimalist.
This will create a “painting in a museum” effect.
What should you avoid?
· Modern minimalist styles (high-tech, industrial): Complete stylistic incompatibility.
Cold materials (concrete, unpainted metal) will ruin the delicate atmosphere of the picture.
· Styles with bright graphics and abstraction (pop art, avant-garde): Will conflict in meaning and mood.
· Loaded background: Wallpaper with a large active pattern, colorful shelves - all this will distract from the details of the picture.
Bottom line: the painting “Cupid and Psyche” is the main dominant feature for an interior in a classical, neoclassical or romantic vein.
She will bring history, an allegory of love and beauty, as well as a subtle sense of beauty into the space.
It will reveal itself best in warm accent light on a monochromatic wall of a noble shade.
