Biography
Elena Babicheva
Year and place of birth: 1982, Kurgan Region, Russia
Pseudonym: Eli Devart
My journey in art began with an inner need to express emotions through color, texture, and metaphor. Since childhood, I lived near a birch grove and a lake—where I first experienced silence, freedom, and the power of natural harmony. These impressions continue to shape my artistic perception of the world.
For me, painting is a form of meditation, a way to find inner harmony and convey a sense of presence, warmth, and connection with nature. My works are an invitation to contemplation and emotional resonance.
Education:
Self-taught in contemporary art. I participate in online courses and masterclasses in painting, composition, and mixed media techniques.
Artistic Direction:
I work in mixed media, combining acrylics, watercolors, pastels, and texture pastes with sand. This layering technique allows me to create vibrant surfaces that convey depth and movement. I am drawn to symbolism and naive art, through which I explore emotional and metaphorical imagery.
Key Themes of Creativity:
In my paintings, nature becomes a metaphor for inner states—a dialogue between humanity and the elements, the external and internal worlds.
Materials and Format of Works:
Palazzo paper 300 g/m² (42 × 30 cm), canvas on cardboard (40 × 50 cm). My series are united by themes of nature, light, and inner balance.
Exhibition Activity:
Solo Exhibitions:
Preparing for my first solo exhibition (in progress) Participation in open calls and online exhibitions of the "Gallerist" project
