The work is based on Maurice Ravel’s Bolero and translates the rhythmic pattern of the snare drum into a visual form.
At the core of the composition is a repeating two-bar cycle. Each vertical element corresponds to an individual drum stroke, while the spacing between them reflects durations through the alternation of eighth notes and triplets.
The rhythm is unfolded line by line: each horizontal row represents a single bar. The rows form repeating pairs, positioned one above another.
The composition develops vertically through repetition. With each new cycle, the elements increase in height, intensify in tone, and become denser in texture. The rhythm itself remains unchanged, while its impact builds and culminates in a burst of light in the upper part of the composition.
A flute line emerges within the structure. It appears at different levels, disappears, and reappears, linking the bars and maintaining the overall direction of movement.

Who It’s For / Where to Place
The work will resonate with those who value structure, rhythm, and clarity, as well as with those who have a refined sensitivity to music.
It integrates naturally into contemporary interiors thanks to its restrained grey-blue palette. The painting works well in both residential and office spaces, especially in areas that require focus.
Within a space, it organizes the visual field, creates a sense of coherence, and helps maintain attention.
