Tales of the Snow Queen

This oil painting is created on a rectangular cotton canvas stretched over a 3 cm deep stretcher frame, measuring 90 80 cm. The piece is framed, and no additional framing is required; the frame is included in the price. The second photo shows the painting in the frame. The total size including the frame is 100 90 cm. The painting has been exhibited in museums and galleries across the Siberian Federal District.
The artwork is a free interpretation of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale The Snow Queen. It reflects my childhood and boundless love for fairy tales. I love when characters from well-known stories seem to come alive and step off the canvas, inviting viewers to reconnect with their childhood and feel carefree and joyful once again.
The scene depicts the Snow Queen’s pursuit of Kay and Gerda. Brightly colored houses draw the viewer’s eye, while a swirling snowstorm, shaped like horses pulling a sled, captivates the imagination. It almost feels as if the "snow horses" might leap off the canvas. The painting naturally inspires a desire to protect Kay and Gerda from the Snow Queen’s watchful gaze.
