The painting captures the moment before a summer thunderstorm. In the foreground, the tall stems of the cypress tree stretch upward, their lush pink inflorescences shining in the sun as if they had absorbed all the warmth of the passing day. A light breeze stirs their thin leaves, bringing with it the scent of fresh grass. In the distance, the delicate greenery of the fields merges with blurred colored spots that disappear over the horizon. Heavy, almost black storm clouds loom majestically over all this, and it seems that rain is about to fall from them. But now the sun is breaking through the gaps in the clouds, flooding pink flowers and grasses with golden light, capturing a rare moment when warmth and an impending thunderstorm meet in one breath.
