I was a little over forty when I found out that the usual question was: "What are you doing now?" you can answer: "Osim Chaim" —
"Enjoying life."
I heard this expression for the first time here in Israel. Its literal translation is: "We make life."
City cafe. Midday. An elderly couple is sitting at the next table. He and she. Not husband and wife, no. More like old acquaintances or friends. They chat casually, flirt a little, drink coffee.
Suddenly, a telephone call rings. Someone on the other end of the line asks him, "What are you doing?"
And he says, "Osim Chaim." Im enjoying my life!
I dont solve problems, I dont earn money, I dont look for answers to questions, I dont set goals and achieve them, I dont lose weight, in the end, no! Im just enjoying life.
