Boyarynya by Makovsky

This watercolor is inspired by a painting by the Russian portrait artist Konstantin Makovsky. I was very interested in trying to reinterpret his work in watercolor (Makovsky painted his works in oil).

The image is pure, elegant, and festive… a young woman on the threshold of significant life events.
