White roses in a glass vase oil painting

For this painting I used a canvas stretched over cardboard. This solid foundation allowed me to create a distinctive texture that accentuated the materiality of the flowers and its colorful background.

It took me several sessions to complete the painting. Each time I added texture and light strokes to the painting. I was looking for such a ratio of flowers and background, which could show their harmonious coexistence. Roses are self-sufficient flowers that do not require additional decoration. In my painting, I wanted to create a special composition where flowers and a background create one whole.

I love working with a palette knife. It allows me to bring spontaneity, energy and mystery to my paintings. The alternation of brush strokes and palette knife makes the picture emotionally rich.
