Despite the sunny landscape, this place will forever remain gloomy and tragic both for our city and for the country as a whole. The family of Nicholas II was shot on the night of July 16-17, 1918 in the basement of Ipatievs house in Yekaterinburg by decision of the Ural Council. All 11 people died: Nicholas II, Alexandra Feodorovna, the children (Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, Alexei) and four servants. The execution was carried out by a group of Bolsheviks led by Yakov Yurovsky. In 2003, on the site of the demolished Ipatiev house, a Church on the Blood was built.
