Sunny bush

The artist painted this life-size sketch of a hazel bush in the village of Karmanovo, Tver Oblast, in 1999, in the style of Alla Prima. He later used this sketch in his 2003 diploma painting, "The Ferapontov Monastery," incorporating the bush in the foreground into the composition with the monastery.
