Velikan Stone. Kyn. Chusovaya

Ancient rocks in the Urals rising from the Chusovaya River like the image of an enchanted giant forever frozen in stone. These prototypes of the fairy tale can be found in the “Mistress” of the “Copper Mountain”, Azov the Girl. Often in the summer in the Urals a lizard is found, as a prototype of Malachite in the form of a lizard with a crown. An image of high skill and custodian of earthly riches. Even today, when walking near the large rocks, you can find stones of wonderful beauty.
This small plain air sketch was painted on the Chusovaya River in the Urals and reflected an impressive landscape with steep cliffs decorated with bright greenery, under a rich blue sky. The steep rocky slope, depicted in rich ochre-gold tones, contrasts with the lush foliage clinging to its surface, illustrating the enduring beauty of nature. The artists use of bold, expressive brushstrokes gives the rocks and trees a dynamic texture, creating a harmonious balance between solid, enduring rock and vibrant, organic vegetation. The reflection of the landscape in the calm water below adds depth and symmetry, enhancing the serenity of the composition. The wood frame, decorated with a five-centimeter-thick silver-gold hue, complements the work, emphasizing its timeless elegance. This painting not only celebrates the grandeur of natural landscapes, but also invites the viewer to appreciate the intricate interplay of light, color and texture in the natural world.
