Sils Maria. Izola

On my second trip to Switzerland, I painted a full-scale sketch of autumn in the Alps, located in the local nature reserve Sils im Engadin near Lake Sils. I was dressed quite lightly, completely forgetting that I was in the mountains. And while I started writing the sketch, it was sunny and warm, about 20 degrees Celsius, but after a while the weather changed, it became cloudy and cold, and it began to snow. I started to freeze. The locals were very hospitable when they saw me freezing and treated me to grog to keep me warm.
