Portrait of Ekaterina Derzhavina for the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Ekaterina Derzhavina (ne Bastidon) (1760-1794) is the first wife of the great Russian poet G.Derzhavin.
This painting is based on the engraving from the now lost Derzhavins portrait which was painted by V.Borovikovskiy at the end of the 18th century. The portrait has been created in the multilayer technique of the old masters.
