Lezhnikov Yury Petrovich (1936 - 1995)
Lesnikov Y. P. (1936, Begic, Bryansk region - 1995, Yaroslavl). Soviet and Russian painter, graphic artist and poster artist. Participant of regional, regional and Republican exhibitions. From 1952 to 1956 he studied at the Yelets Art School. After service in the Soviet army, from 1959 to 1961 he continued his education at the Kostroma Art School. From 1961 to 1967 he studied at the Kharkov Art Institute illustrious teachers L. Chernov, V. Khmelnitsky, and A. Martynets, A. Constantinople, S. Solodovnikova, A. Vyatkina. On the recommendation of Professor A. V. Vyatkina, together with a group of students of the Institute, made a trip along the Great Northern Sea Route. The result of this trip was a series of paintings, some of which were exhibited at the exhibition, and then became part of the collections of the Kharkiv Art Museum. After graduation, at the request of several professors of the Institute, Yury Lesnikov it was decided to leave as a lecturer at the Department of drawing. However, because of the ridiculous mistakes of an ideological nature (criticized artistic taste N. S. Khrushchev) this idea was not destined to be realized. In time, Lesnikov works a lot like a painter, creating landscapes of their homes, locking the working life of ordinary people and the beauty of the new industry. The Donetsk branch of the Art Fund in Yenakiyevo for seventeen years, became the main place of the creative efforts for Yuri Lesnikova. These were years of fruitful work in different spheres of artistic activity - from the establishment of easel painting to work in various fields of decorative art. In 1983, the artist moved to permanent residence in the city of Yaroslavl. There, he, as before, leads an active creative life, creating a set of field sketches, beautiful sketches, and thematic paintings glorifying the beauty of the Yaroslavl land and her wonderful workers. The artist's skill was noticed and appreciated by his contemporaries. His paintings, in addition to private collections, are in the collections of several public museums, such as Kharkov Art Museum, Yaroslavl Art Museum, Moscow Museum of great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya hill, etc.
