The Valaam

The snow lies on the slopes of high hills in the bay of Ladoga Lake. The tall, slender pine trees tilted their branches to the water. At the small pier there are boats. On the hill above the branches of the trees rise white stone church and bell tower of Valaam monastery. Their domes and treetops covered the pink rays of the sunset. In a quiet watery surface, the banks of the bay are reflected.
