Salomakhin Yury (1933 - 2018)

The artist grew up on the island of Muynak (Aral Sea). More than forty years he lived in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek. Working in the Arts Fund, the artist traveled with his sketchbook around almost the whole territory of Central Asia. Since 2004 he lives and works in town Kalyazin (Russia) near the Volga-River. He works as a Teacher of Graphics in Kalyazin Art School. Salomakhin frequently takes part in the Regional Art Exhibitions. Personal Exhibitions of the artist held in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) and the towns Shtokkah and Bodman (Germany), also in Tver, Kimry, Kalyazin (Russia). Yury is a participant of National Exhibitions since 1978, and a participant of International Exhibitions since 1999. His artworks are in collection of Kyrgyz State Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan), and in private collections around the world.
