Queen Maria of Romania Edinburgh (the wife of the Romanian King Ferdinand I) in 1921 ordered the break in Balchik huge park and build a summer residence, which she described as Turkish «Tenha Yuvah» - «Lonely Nest". She is now known as the "Palace of Tranquil Nest." The composition of the residence consists of 10 villas and a chapel; in the construction of this complex using a combination of different architectural styles. The heart of the complex is considered to be the palace of the queen, having a large tower. Around the palace was a massive stone throne, sitting where Queen Mary watched the sunrise.
