Venus flycatcher

As soon as I learned that this fantastically beautiful plant could be kept at home I wanted to paint a still life with it. Perhaps even a series of still lifes I can write in the future. Here is my first work with this predatory wonder, on a provocatively contrasting red background.
It is a mixed technique, acrylic and oil on canvas.
The sides of the work are painted, the work is ready to hang.
