About eight years ago, while in Greece, diving in the sea near a monastery, I found a small piece of wood (11.5X8.5cm) at the bottom, which looked like an icon. There was no image on it, and its not sure it was an icon, but by the shape of the chunk and judging by the gaps on the back, it looked like one. I brought it home, put it in a "long box" and forgot about it. This year, during Lent, I saw it again and took it out. In short, thus was born this little icon of the Venerable Romanus the Melodist.
