Biography
Maxim Dyusmetov was born in 1978 in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg). In 2001, he graduated from Tomsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
From 1996 to 2008, he worked at the Tomsk Union of Artists of Russia (in the decorative and applied arts workshop of Erik Dyusmetov, an Honoured Artist of Russia and jeweller). In 2006–2008, he studied etching techniques at the art studio of S. S. Pavsky, an Honoured Artist of Russia.
Since 2003, he served as an assistant art director at the gallery “Tomsk House of the Artist”; since 2006, he was an independent curator at the same gallery, and since 2009, he became the gallery’s director. Later, he worked in the fields of design and architecture.
Since 2007, he has participated in the Tomsk Creative Association TAIGARTgallery, together with Valentin Dolgov.
Since 2015, he has held the position of Head of the Artistic Production Department at the R. Vinderman Tomsk Puppet and Actor Theatre.
