Why do I like to paint the sea? I am the daughter of Crimea, and the sea is its priceless pearl. For an artist born here, there is no question of choosing a theme: the sea is my soul, my muse. Since childhood, I have felt myself in his arms, I adore his rebellious beauty. And although my passion for traveling takes me beyond the peninsula, I know that you can live your whole life here, drowning in happiness, because everything is here. And most importantly, there is the Sea. Gentle and powerful, the bluest in the world, infinitely beautiful. And watercolor, as well as possible, conveys its living essence: the play of waves, flickering reflections, transparent depth.
In pursuit of ship plots, I traveled the Crimean coast, and Yalta, Sevastopol, Balaklava, Sudak, Feodosia and Kerch are especially dear to my heart. The ships here are like living beings, each with its own unique character, purpose, and, it seems, even destiny. As humans, they have their own distinct appearance, that special trait that is unique to them. Their textures, from noble scuffing to picturesque rust, have their own beauty and poetry hidden in them. I strive to capture not just a ship or a boat, but their portrait, their image, which contains a whole story of adventures, a long and glorious journey.
