Faces of the City

The painting "Faces of the City" was painted in the year of Dostoevsky in Russia. I live in a beautiful Siberian city in Omsk, where the exiled convict M.F. Dostoevsky served his sentence. "Notes from the Dead House" is a novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky, written in 1860-1862. The story was created under the impression of imprisonment in the Omsk prison in 1850-1854.
There are several monuments of this writer in our city, and in the picture I depicted one of them, with all its power and monumentality.
At the bottom there are two figures, those who stayed in Omsk.
The work was done in a mixed technique. In the graphics, I use an acrylic lining and put pastels on top of it. This technique allows me to use texture in graphics.
