Nakshatra Ashwini

This is the first nakshatra of ASHWINI, it is located in the constellation Aries, its ruler is Ketu.

Ashwini is a deva, a divine star, auspicious in nature. It is named after the Ashwini Kumaras, heavenly twin brothers, healers of demigods, moving through the sky on a chariot, bringing with them light and happiness. The name of nakshatra can be translated as "born of a mare", "horsewoman", "female horse".
"Ashwini is as beautiful as a lotus petal, she has a horses head. Dressed in white, she sits on a lotus, holding a book in her left hand and a pot full of divine herbs in her right."
