Simonov Assumption Monastery is located in the modern Danilovsky district of Moscow, and was one of the largest and richest monasteries in the capital of Russia.
The fortress wall had five towers. The Kuznechnaya (blacksmith) tower is located between the Dulo and Salt towers and has a pentagonal shape in plan.
