The Last Moon of Summer - 2018, acrylic, mixed media.
Under the last moon the fragile Maiden of Summer dies, crumpled and transfigured beyond recognition (shoulder blades are now in front etc.) on a cross of weed, rapidly devoured by a chtonic dragonfly who before dying itself dont want to leave anything to the Beasts of Winter. Maiden drops her blood and roses to incense burners filled with the weed she mowed down before being crucified on a solidifying and cooling black earth of Golgotha which is covered by the streaks of her fiery hair like the streams of lava from volcano. Swan reminds us the Greek legends of Styx (which is inhabited by swans) and Leda, the snake is leaving after temptating Eve.
This is a dance of love and hate, life and death, sacrifice and offence, the freedom of the artist mind to rethink all of these paradygms in his visionary journey beyond the freedom itself.
