Biography
Shamil Shaidullin is an outstanding artist of Russia and Tatarstan. He graduated from the Kazan Art College, the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin, and completed postgraduate studies at the Russian Academy of Arts. In 1987, he was awarded the title of "Honored Artist of the TASSR", in 1997 – "People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan", Winner of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after G. Tukai (2000), in 2013 – "Honored Artist of Russia".
In September 2021, the artist was supposed to be awarded the title of "People's Artist of Russia" (the collected documents were submitted to the country's leadership for approval), however, unfortunately, he did not live to see this event. On August 3, 2021, he passed away.
From 1980 to the end of his life, he participated in All-Union, All-Russian and international exhibitions, held 11 solo large-scale exhibitions. His paintings are kept in the museums of the republic, Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in private collections in Germany, Turkey, France and the USA.
