Biography

Artist Khalzev Nikolai Ivanovich was born on April 11, 1923 in the village of Sukhaya Vyazovka, Samara Region. In 1939 he entered the Penza Art School. In 1942 he went to the front. A participant in hostilities, he has many military awards, including the Order of Glory. After the war, he graduated from college, and in 1947 he moved to his native Samara.
Nikolai Ivanovich has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1967. As a painter and graphic artist, he exhibited his works at regional, zonal and republican exhibitions, and repeatedly took part in the Big Volga exhibitions. During his lifetime, the artist had 6 personal exhibitions. His works were acquired by collectors from Germany, Great Britain, France and were sold at auctions in Europe from 1993 to 2017, including the DROUOT auction house, Christie's auction in South Kensington, etc. Nikolay Halzev, a very famous artist in Samara, died in 1999 year. I, the daughter of the artist, Shubochkin (Halzeva) Elena Nikolaevna is his only heir and beneficiary.
